EL PASO, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks (1-3) will look to rebound from a 64-55 setback to Nevada in the opening round of the UTEP Thanksgiving Classic when they take the court today against Cal State Fullerton. The Titans enter Saturday's game with an identical 1-3 record after dropping a 78-71 decision to tournament-host UTEP Friday night. The game is slated to begin at 5:30 p.m. from the Don Haskins Center.
The Ladyjacks received a season-high 17 points from junior Natashia Green, and a season-high 15 points from senior Nikki Carr, but Nevada was able to hit its free throws down the stretch to win the game. Nevada (3-2) will face UTEP in the championship game beginning at 8 p.m.
The SFA defense was up to its usual tricks forcing the Wolf Pack into 23 turnovers, but the Ladyjacks were unable to make Nevada pay for their mistakes. SFA turned the 23 miscues into only 13 points.
The Ladyjacks have face Cal State Fullerton one other time in school history. SFA recorded a 90-64 victory over the Titans during the 1993-94 season.
