
Ladyjack Softball to Play SLC Series at Monroe

NACOGDOCHES - After a step out of conference play earlier in the week, the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks are headed to Monroe, La., to face the Louisiana-Monroe Lady Indians in a Southland Conference three-game series over Easter weekend.
SFA, who is 15-22 overall and has a 5-10 SLC mark, heads into the series in seventh place in the SLC while ULM is tied for ninth place with a 5-13 conference record. The Lady Indians have a 22-25 overall record.
Senior outfielder Carrie Woydziak is leading the team with a .352 batting average and 28 runs scored. She's also tied for the team lead with 14 stolen bases. Senior third baseman Lee Lara is second with a .336 batting average and leads with with 25 RBI. Lara and first baseman Tara Hersey are tied for the team lead with six home runs.
Senior pitcher Traci Moore leads SFA's pitching staff with a 2.77 ERA and a 7-6 record. She had 30 Ks in 68.1 innings pitched. In three complete games pitched, she's thrown two shutouts.
For the Lady Indians, infielders Heather Williams and Heather Hanson lead the team in batting with identical .309 averages. Williams' 11 doubles and 26 RBI also leads ULM. Hanson also has a team-leading 26 runs scored and 10 stolen bases.
SFA and ULM will face off in a doubleheader Friday beginning at 4 p.m. and a single game Saturday at noon. The series will be played at Lady Indian Field.
The Ladyjacks will return home and once again step out of conference play when they host North Texas on Wednesday in a doubleheader at 3 p.m. from Hoya Field.
