
Ladyjacks Face Jackson State

JACKSON, Miss. - After dropping their last two games, the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack basketball team will look to get back to their winning ways Saturday when they travel to Jackson, Miss., to face Jackson State. SFA enters the game with a 7-5 (.583) overall record after dropping road games at Arkansas-Little Rock and at No. 24 Arkansas. The Lady Tigers enter the game with one of the SWAC's best non-conference records. JSU is 6-4 (.600) on the season and has won two of their past three games.
SFA vs. the Lady Tigers: The all-time series between SFA and Jackson State is all tied up at 3-3 (.500) The Ladyjacks have won the past two meetings and three of the past five. SFA recorded an 85-67 win over the Lady Tigers in Nacogdoches last season. The series dates back to the 1981-82 season when the Lady Tigers recorded a one-point victory, 73-72.
Charity Tosses: Senior Charity Egenti continues to take advantage of her opportunities during her final collegiate season. Egenti led the Ladyjacks with a career-high 24 points against No. 24 Arkansas. She finished the game 12-for-19 (63 percent) from the floor. She also pulled down eight rebounds and recorded three steals. It marked the fifth time this season that SFA has had a player score at least 20 points in a game.
Arc Angel: Junior Nikki Carr is among the school's list of elite three-point shooters and she is only a junior. Carr is currently ninth all-time with 78 career three-pointers.
Up Next ... The Ladyjacks will conclude their season-long six-game road swing by opening Southland Conference play. The Ladyjacks will be in Thibodaux, La., Thursday, Jan. 4 to face Nicholls State. The game against the Lady Colonels is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. SFA will then travel to Hammond, La., Saturday, Jan. 6 to take on Southeastern Louisiana. The game against the Lions is slated to tip off at 3 p.m. from the University Center.
