
Ladyjacks Head to Arkansas

Despite a slow start, the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack basketball team kept its win streak alive Saturday by rallying to defeat Alcorn State, 73-59. The Ladyjacks now sit at 7-3 (.700) overall and ride a season-high five game win streak. SFA will look to continue their win streak Tuesday in Little Rock, Ark., against the Trojans (8-3). UALR has won two consecutive and four of their last five. The game against the Trojans is slated to begin at 7 p.m. from the Jack Stephens Center. The Ladyjacks will be in Hot Springs, Ark., the following night to face No. 25 (AP Womenâ?TMs Basketball Top 25 poll) Arkansas. The Lady Razorbacks are 11-1 (.917) on the season, and have won their last four consecutive games. The game against Arkansas is slated to begin at 6 p.m. from the Summit Arena in Hot Springs, Ark.
SFA vs. the Trojans: The Ladyjacks are a perfect 1-0 all-time against UALR. The lone meeting between the two schools came last season when SFA recorded an 80-45 victory.
The Streak: The Ladyjacks are currently in the midst of a season-high five game win streak.
December Basketball: The Ladyjacks will hate to see the month of December come to a close. SFA is a perfect 4-0 in December games this season.
Production Off the Bench: Senior Natalie Kizzee gave SFA head coach Lee Ann Riley some strong minutes off the bench Saturday against Alcorn State. Kizzee entered the game with her team trailing, 22-8. Kizzee scored six first-half points and pulled down three rebounds to spark a 10-0 run to help get her team back in the game. Kizzee eventually led SFA to the win behind a career-high 12 points, 10 rebounds and one block.
Double-Double: Senior Natalie Kizzee recorded her first career double-double Saturday against Alcorn State. She scored a career-high 12 points and pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds. It marked the seventh time this season that a Ladyjack has recorded a double-double.
Freebies: The Ladyjacks continue to take care of business at the free throw line. SFA went 10-of-12 (83 percent) against Alcorn State, which marks the fourth time this season that SFA has shot at least 80 percent from the free throw line. The Ladyjacks are currently second in the Southland Conference shooting 74 percent from the free throw line.
