
Ladyjacks Host Centenary Saturday at 6 p.m. Saturday

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack basketball team returned from its Thanksgiving trip to Tampa, Fla., going 1-1 and finishing third in its two games. The Ladyjacks dropped a 71-63 decision to Massachusetts, before rallying the next day for a 64-53 victory against St. Francis (NY). The Ladyjacks will now look to turn that victory into a modest win streak as they open their longest homestand of the season. The Ladyjacks will open the three-game set Saturday against Centenary at 6 p.m. SFA will return to the court three nights later to host Tulsa at 7 p.m. The Ladyjacks will close out the homestand against North Texas Thursday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. All three games will be played in the William R. Johnson Coliseum.
SFA vs. the Ladies: The Ladyjacks are a perfect 2-0 all-time against Centenary. SFA recorded a 99-40 victory in 1999-2000. The Ladyjacks also recorded 95-86 victory last season in Shreveport, La.
Home Sweet Home: The Ladyjacks are one of the nation's all-time winningest teams at home, with a 346-86 (.801) all-time record. The Ladyjacks have 81 of their last 95 games at home and were a perfect 14-0 at home last season, and are 1-1 this year.
Fast Carr: Junior Nikki Carr continues her fast offensive start to the 2006-07 season. Carr posted her second double-double of the season Saturday afternoon against Massachusetts. Carr led the Ladyjacks with 16 points and tied a career high with 11 rebounds against the Minutewomen. Two other Ladyjacks just missed recording double-doubles against UMass. Senior Charity Egenti finished the game with 14 points and nine rebounds, while classmate Evelyn Edwards added 10 points and nine rebounds.
