"As a coach, I'm pleased with the quality of our schedule," said SFA head coach Lee Ann Riley. "We have some quality opponents coming to Nacogdoches and we will be competing in some tough tournaments as well. We have a non-conference schedule that will challenge us, as well as prepare us for Southland Conference play."
The Ladyjacks kick off the regular season on Friday Nov. 18th, when they travel to Denton, Texas, to take on North Texas. SFA will be back in Nacogdoches three nights later for the home opener against Alcorn State. The Ladyjacks will return to the court the following day to face either Tennessee Tech or Chattanooga.
SFA will open the final month of 2005 in Colorado Springs, Colo., to compete in the Air Force Classic. The Ladyjacks will face High Point on Friday Dec. 2, and will play either Air Force or Bucknell on Saturday Dec. 3. The Ladyjacks return to the friendly confines of the William R. Johnson Coliseum on Tuesday Dec. 6 to host Arkansas-Little Rock, before hitting the road again for three more dates. The Ladyjacks will travel to Austin to face in-state rival Texas Thursday Dec. 8, before getting nine days off to prepare for Centenary (Dec. 17). SFA will be in Tulsa, Okla., on Wednesday Dec. 21 for their final game prior to the Christmas Holiday. SFA closes out its non-conference schedule on Friday Dec. 30 against Jackson State in the William R. Johnson Coliseum.
The Ladyjacks will kick off conference play Thursday Jan. 5 against Nicholls State at home. SFA will remain at the coliseum to close out a three-game homestand against Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday Jan. 7.
