The Ladyjack softball team (4-11, 1-5) hosts Centenary Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in a non-conference game at the Coy Sims Softball Complex in Nacogdoches. SFA hopes to bounce back from a three game sweep by Sam Houston over the weekend.
SFA faced the Centenary Ladies in the final game of the 2004 season, taking a 3-2 win in Shreveport, La.
Centenary enters Wednesday's match-up at 8-9 on the year and winnners of five of their last six games.
The Ladyjacks have dropped five of their last six to Northwestern State and Sam Houston and take a break from Southland Conference action with the single game Wednesday.
OF Carrie Woydziak continues to lead the team in hitting, batting .386 for the year. In 15 games, Woydziak has collected 17 hits, including five extra base hits and has driven in five runs. She also leads the team in runs scored with 14 and is 3-3 in stolen base attempts on the year.
The Ladyjacks feature two other hitters currently in the line-up hitting over .300 for the year in OF Kristina Swart at .343 (12-35) and C Kacie Rees at .357 (5-14). Rees has appeared in only eight games for SFA, but started in all three games over the weekend behind the plate.
SFA pitching is still looking to find its groove as four Ladyjack pitchers have combined to post a 6.79 ERA, while opponents have posted a 3.62 ERA against the Ladyjacks. Opponents are hitting .421 off Ladyjack pitching.
Gametime Wednesday is set for 5:30 p.m.
