
SFA Beats Arkansas In Game One, 9-5

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas -- The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks (6-15) picked up their second straight win Wednesday afternoon with a 9-5 win over The University of Arkansas (10-19) Wednesday afternoon in the opening game of a non-conference doubleheader.
Lee Lara went 2-4 with a homer and three runs batted in and Carrie Woydziak also went 2-4 with one RBI and a run scored to pace SFA at the plate. Shelby Rutherford also went 2-4 with a pair of runs scored in the opener. Julie Morse also drove in three runs with a three run homer as SFA scored nine runs on nine hits off Arkansas pitching.
Traci Moore started and scattered five hits and gave up two runs in 4.1 innings of work to pick up the win. Nicole Carter came on in relief and worked 2.2 innings, allowing three runs on three hits while striking out three.
The Ladyjacks were able to work around four errors in the opener as Arkansas picked up eight hits and scored five runs off SFA pitching. Only two of the runs were earned.
