
Softball Signs Right Handed Pitcher

NACOGDOCHES, Texas-- Stephen F. Austin softball coach Jennifer Poulsen announced today the signing of right handed pitcher Kaitlin Morrison to a letter of intent to play softball and continue her education at SFA next fall.
Morrison was a first team TSWA All-State selection in 2003 as a junior and served as a captain on her Italy High School team this spring as a senior. As of mid-April, Morrison had posted an 80-32 record during her high school career, striking out 915 batters in 693 innings pitched.
In addition to earned all-state honors as a junior, Morrison was also the district pitcher of the year last year and helped lead her team to a regional quarterfinal championship. She was the Super CenTex Newcomer and Freshman of the Year in 2001 and also earned pitcher of the year honors as a sophomore in 2002.
Morrison holds her high school career record for strikeouts with 915. She is also a member of Who's Who Among American High School Students and the National Honor Society at Italy High School.
She will enroll for classes at SFA in September.
