
Carter Helps Summer Team To Top Showing In Canada

Nicole Carter, a freshman this past season on the SFA softball team, returned home to Roseville, Calif. this summer and helped pitch her team to a fifth place finish at the invitiation only Canada Cup Tournament in British Columbia. The tournament featured 55 teams in the under-19 division, including the Chinese Youth National Team.
The Roseville Heat Gold went 7-2 in the tournament and finished fifth, the second highest finish among a contingent of California teams. Carter teamed with teammate Kris Paese to pitch in each of the nine games. The Heat won its first seven games before dropping its final two decisions in the tournament.
Carter went 6-8 this past year with a 2.38 ERA for SFA while making 31 appearances. She helped SFA to a 27-31 finish and an 11-16 SLC mark. Carter also hit .140 in 50 at-bats last season for the 'Jacks.
