Ladyjacks Picked Preseason Co-SLC Favorite

PLANO, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack basketball team has some company at the top of the Southland Conference preseason poll this year. The Ladyjacks are a preseason co-favorite in the league sports information directors poll but were picked second by the league coaches.
The Ladyjacks received six first-place votes and 113 points from the conference sports information directors, which placed them in a tie with Northwestern State, who received four first-place votes and 113 points. Texas-Arlington received the other first-place vote.
SFA received four first-place votes and received 94 points to finish second to Northwestern State in a poll of the league coaches. The Lady Demons were selected as the preseason favorite by the league coaches six first-place votes and 96 points. Texas-Arlington received the other first-place vote.
The Ladyjacks tipoff the 2002-03 season Saturday Nov. 23 against Arkansas. The game is slated to get underway at 7 p.m., from Fayetteville, Ark.
