Dixon Takes Over As Assistant SID

Stephen F. Austin State University athletic director Steve McCarty has announced the hiring of James Dixon to take over the duties of Assistant Sports Information Director at SFA. Dixon comes to SFA after serving in a similar capacity at Northern Arizona University.
"I am very excited to add someone to our staff with James' abilities and talents. Not only does he have the experience needed to excel in the position, but he is also a quality person that will be a huge asset to the SFA athletic family," said McCarty.
Dixon comes to SFA having spent the past five years working in the sports information office at Northern Arizona. The 1996 graduate of NAU served for the past three years as a graduate assistant in the office, spending one year as the assistant sports information director handling the media relations duties for football and men's basketball.
At SFA, Dixon will serve as the primary media contact for the Ladyjack basketball, volleyball, soccer and tennis teams, and will also serve as the primary contact for the SFA track and field programs. Dixon will also assist with the Lumberjack football program this fall.
