Ladyjack Basketball and Royce Chadwick End Another Successful Season

PISCATAWAY, New Jersey -- The Stephen F. Austin State University Ladyjack basketball team made their 16 appearance in the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament as they faced Rutgers in Piscataway. Although the Ladyjacks fell to Rutgers 80-43, the team ended the season 26-7 overall and 18-2 in Southland Conference play.
The Ladyjacks clinched the Southland Conference regular season title Saturday, March 24, in Arlington as they defeated Texas-Arlington 62-52. This was SFA's 12 regular season title and 14 consecutive trip to the SLC Tournament.
At the SLC Tournament the Ladyjacks defeated Southwest Texas in the first round 79-42 and Texas-San Antonio 49-32 in the semi-finals to advance to the championship game against Northwestern State. SFA won the tournament title 82-73 over Northwestern State. This was also Coach Royce Chadwick's 400th overall career win.
