2001 CenturyTel Basketball Classic Ticket Prices Established

PLANO, Texas -- Tickets to the semifinals and championship games of the 2001 CenturyTel Classic presented by Audiovox Communications Corp., the postseason men's and women's basketball tournament of the Southland Conference, go on sale Friday, Feb. 2. Tickets may be purchased by calling TicketMaster at (318) 741-9700 or visiting its web site at www.ticketmaster.com.
The CenturyTel Classic, scheduled for March 6-10, showcases the top eight men's and women's teams in the final regular-season Southland standings. The newly-opened CenturyTel Center in Bossier City, La., will host the final three days of the Southland's prelude to March Madness. Tickets may also be purchased at the CenturyTel Center Box Office.
Adult semifinal tickets are priced at $12 each and include both games of the corresponding date. Member-institution students, who have a valid student identification card, and youths three years old through high-school age may purchase tickets for $7 per day. Championship day tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for students. Children two years of age and under will be admitted free.
On Thursday, March 8, the women's semifinals will be played at 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. with the men playing their semifinal games Friday, March 9, at 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Both championship games will be played March 10 with the men's title game scheduled for 11:00 a.m. and the women's game following at 3:00 p.m.
The 16-team, 14-game Classic will consist of first-round games being played on campuses March 6. Tickets for those contests will be sold through the host university's ticket office.
Ticket prices for first-round games will be $10 for Reserved Level I and VIP, $7 for General Admission and Reserved Level II, $5 for university students with valid student identification card and $5 for kids ages six through high school. Children five and under will be admitted free.
Fans in and around the Shreveport/Bossier City area may also purchase tickets at TicketMaster outlets located in Kroger Food Stores.
