NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack basketball team added another player to its 2001 signing class. The Ladyjacks signed Kendria Smith to a National Letter of Intent announced SFA head coach Lee Ann Riley Monday.
The 6-foot, one-inch Smith is a forward that can both shoot and rebound the basketball. As a junior, Smith scored 11 points per game and pulled down eight rebounds per contest for Shreveport's Southwood High. She shot 45 percent from the floor, while recorded two steals and two blocks.
"I am thrilled to have Kendria joining our program," said Riley. "She is a 6-1 athlete from a very solid, well coached program in Shreveport. They (Southwood High) have won six of the last seven class 5A state championships. Kendria is a class act and will take care of business on and off the court."
Smith is the fourth addition to the 2001 Ladyjack signing class.
