NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack basketball team signed Jamie Boles (Keller, Texas), Kim Branch (Wortham, Texas) and Melissa France (Bossier City, Louisiana) to National Letters of Intent announced SFA head coach Lee Ann Riley Thursday.
"We are very pleased with our first signing class," said Riley. "I felt that we really addressed some needs as far as adding some strength and size to our team."
Boles is a 6-2 forward who averages 14 points, 11 rebounds, two blocks, two steals and two assists per contest heading into her final season. She also has the ability to light it up from outside the arc, hitting 50 percent of her three-pointers.
"Jamie is a player we believe can come in and contribute immediately to our program. She is a well-rounded player who can rebound the ball and score from the inside and outside. She loves to play a physical style of basketball."
Branch is a 5-7 guard who really knows how to put the ball in the basket. She averaged almost a triple-double per game as a junior with her 31 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists per contest. Branch is also very active on defense with eight steals a game.
"I think Kim is the sleeper of the signing class," said Riley. "She is a player who comes out of the class A ranks who loves to get on the court and just compete. She is a strong guard who can rebound well for her size. Kim is also a very driven young lady. She takes pride in everything she does."
France is the lone Louisiana native of the signing class. She comes to Nacogdoches from Benton High School where she averaged 12 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks a game as a junior. France shot 43 percent from the floor last season.
"Melissa has the perfect build for a post player. She runs the floor well and has good size. I think she will develop into a really nice player in the post."
