The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks used good defense and a poor shooting night from the Lamar Cardinals to cruise past Lamar 66-36 to win their fifth straight Southland Conference game. The Ladyjacks shot 46% from the field, while holding the Lady Cardinals to only 27.5% from the floor for the game. The Ladyjacks are now 10-3, 5-0 in SLC play.
The 36 points by Lamar was the lowest point total ever scored by a Lamar team in the Montagne Center.
Amy Collins led SFA with 13 points, with Latisha Prater the only other Ladyjack in double figures with 10. Tami Rater led the Ladyjacks on the glass with seven rebounds.
Shawnta Vanzant led Lamar with 15 points on a five of 15 shooting night. The Ladyjacks outrebounded Lamar 36-35. SFA also forced 26 Lamar turnovers while committing only 15 themselves.
The Ladyjacks return to action Saturday afternoon as they play host to Sam Houston at 2:00 in the Coliseum.
