Before SFA: By the time his prep career was a matter of record, latched on to any number of individual accolades through a varsity career at shortstop for St. Anthony Catholic HS...a four-year starter and four-year letter winner, scored Second Team All-District recognition as a freshman and sophomore before ratcheting things up a couple of notches for the last half of his pre-collegiate career...as a junior and senior, was named a First Team All-District and First Team All-State player and also secured Academic All-State laurels...pulled double duty on the gridiron for four years at the varsity level as a quarterback and running back...took home Honorable Mention, Second Team and First Team All-District honors one time each through the course of his varsity career...pulled in an All-State Honorable Mention citation following his junior campaign and careved out a spot for himself on the Academic All-State team, too...was voted team MVP his sophomore, junior and senior seasons...batted .333 as a freshman, .418 as a sophomore, .386 as a junior and .398 as a senior...also played hardball for the Lights Out Baseball Academy...Son of Enrique and Lorraine Sanchez...born in McAllen, Texas...plans to major in business.
