SERIES HISTORY
Thursday marks the seventh meeting between the programs. East Texas A&M leads the series 4-2, with each team scoring nine goals. SFA won the first meeting 5-1 in Nacogdoches in 1996, still the largest margin in the series.
The Ladyjacks' most recent win came in the 2024 Southland Conference Tournament championship match, a 2-0 decision at a neutral site. East Texas A&M won the most recent meeting 1-0 in Nacogdoches on Oct. 9, 2025. SFA is 0-2 in Commerce, with previous trips in 1997 and 2024.
JACKS GO FOR THREE STRAIGHT
SFA snapped a six-match skid with a 3-1 comeback at UTRGV on Oct. 22, then followed it with Sunday's shutout. The Ladyjacks won three in a row in September, beating Texas Southern and Jackson State before taking their Southland opener against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Five of SFA's six conference losses have come by a single goal.
CHAPPELLE ONE AWAY FROM DOUBLE FIGURES
Sophomore Alyce Chappelle leads SFA with nine goals and 20 points in her first season with the program. Her nine goals rank second in the Southland, and she also leads the Ladyjacks with 32 shots and 14 on target.
Chappelle had a hand in all three goals at UTRGV. She scored twice, set up Kensley Smith's game-winner and sealed the comeback with an 86th-minute penalty kick. She also delivered an 88th-minute winner against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in September. Chappelle earned Southland Conference honorable mention after recording a season-high five points in the comeback win at UTRGV.
SECOND-HALF SCORING
The Ladyjacks have scored 21 of their 29 goals after halftime, including all three at UTRGV after trailing 1-0 at the break. Nine players have scored this season, and SFA needs one more goal to reach 30.
Senior Lucie Platt has four goals and three assists and has converted both of her penalty attempts. SFA is 5-for-6 from the spot as a team. Junior defender Sawyer Kohutek, who has started all 18 matches, scored her first career goal at McNeese and added her second from the penalty spot at Nicholls.
PRIÉ CREATES FROM THE BACK LINE
Junior defender Amélie Prié has a goal and three assists in 16 appearances this season. She shares the team lead in assists with Lucie Platt, and one of her three set up Alyce Chappelle's go-ahead goal in SFA's 4-2 comeback win over Jackson State.
DAVIS A FIXTURE IN THE LINEUP
Kamrynn Davis has appeared in all 18 matches this season, making 17 starts and logging 1,223 minutes. The sophomore has filled multiple roles for the Ladyjacks while contributing a goal and two assists.
WHITTEMORE CLOSES SECOND REGULAR SEASON
Thursday marks the final regular-season match of Ashley Whittemore's second year at the helm. She enters the finale with a 14-16-10 record at SFA after guiding the Ladyjacks to an 8-4-10 overall record, a 5-1-4 Southland mark and a berth in the conference tournament final in her first season.
SOUTHLAND STANDINGS
SFA enters Thursday with nine conference points, three behind East Texas A&M and Nicholls. A victory would bring the Ladyjacks level with the Lions on 12 points. East Texas A&M can secure a postseason berth with a win. The Southland Conference Tournament runs Nov. 10–15 at Lion Soccer Field.
