COACH DEBBIE HUMPHREYS
"We've got our hands full this weekend. We're going to have to play well to put ourselves in position to get the outcome that we want. And we could sure use Jack Nation to help with that in both of these matches—6:00 PM Thursday night. We played a really close match with Loyola Chicago at their place last year and lost to them in five. They're coming off doing the same thing we are in their preseason: they're playing in really tough tournaments to prepare themselves for their conference play. They took Northern Iowa—which is a very strong program—took them to five, took a set off Georgia Tech... I mean, they're playing and doing very good things."
"It should be a tremendous battle. Again, one where we've just got to do us at a high level on our side of the court. And we could use... I think the fans in Shelton when they get going in there, they're good for a couple points a set, and that could be the difference in each set as you start looking at two very comparable teams—so evenly matched. We've got to fill Shelton. We've got to make it very uncomfortable for both of these opponents coming in here this week."
