COLLEGE STATION, Texas- Stephen F. Austin lost its match to Texas A&M 3-0 on Tuesday, with set scores of 13-25, 9-25 and 22-25.

The Ladyjacks built an early 6-2 lead in the opening set, getting a kill from Avery Koonsen, blocks involving Molly Cravens, Lara Gilardi and Kennedy Jones, and a service ace from Gilardi. The Aggies answered with six straight points to move ahead 8-6, using two Kaia Castle kills and three SFA attack errors during the run. Katherine Holtman and Jordan Henderson added kills as SFA stayed within 9-10, but the Aggies pushed the margin to 14-9 with kills from Eliza Sharp and Kirra Musgrove and a block by Musgrove and Sharp. After a Cravens kill and an Aggies service error brought SFA to 13-19, the Aggies closed the set with six straight points, including kills from Kyndal Stowers, Taryn Morris and Castle, to take it 25-13.

SFA took the first point of the second set on an Aggies attack error, and Jones' kill from Madi Zorn tied it at 2-2 before the Aggies scored four straight points to move ahead 6-2. Holtman stopped that stretch with a kill, but the Aggies pushed the score to 12-4 behind two blocks involving Kirra Musgrove and Kaia Castle and a Kyndal Stowers kill before Kyanna Creecy answered for SFA. Musgrove later served consecutive aces and Amare Hernandez added a kill to make it 16-5, and the Aggies continued to 21-8 before Jones put down another kill for SFA. The Aggies took the final four points, with Taryn Morris starting the closing stretch and Natalie Ring recording three straight kills to finish the set 25-9.

The Ladyjacks started the third set with kills from Gilardi and Koonsen and a Zorn service ace to move ahead 3-0. The Aggies answered after SFA led 5-3, scoring four straight points behind two Amare Hernandez kills and a Kirra Musgrove kill to go in front 7-5, but SFA later tied it at 11-11 on Koonsen ace and moved ahead 12-11 on a Jones kill. The set stayed tight through the middle stages, with SFA taking a 20-18 lead after Koonsen kill and a block by Creecy and Gilardi, then going up 21-19 on another Gilardi kill. The Aggies scored the next four points to take a 23-21 lead, and after a Creecy-Jones block brought SFA within 23-22, the Aggies closed the set with the final two points for a 25-22 finish.
