NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Stephen F. Austin Women's Soccer battled through a 1-1 draw against Prairie View A&M on Sunday, September 14.
Alexis Miller was able to put the 'Jacks up by one in the 24th minute by scoring on a penalty kick. Alex Bayouth led the 'Jacks to the opportunity, drawing a foul inside the box.
The Panthers evened the match with the Lumberjacks in the second half when, in the 76th minute, Nia Wilson found herself on a breakaway to score and move the score to an even 1-1.
Prairie View A&M took eight shots on the afternoon. Destini Twiggs accounted for three of the shots for the Panthers, and Nia Wilson came off the bench to tally two shots, as her goal was the only shot on net for Prairie View A&M.
SFA put up 32 shots as Brielle Buchanan, Logan Heausler, and Alexis Miller combined for 19 of the shots. 11 Lumberjacks made their mark on the shot chart, setting a new season high for shots in a game for SFA. Bryn Geppert and Sydney Williams totaled 166 minutes together, holding down the back line for the Lumberjacks.
