Cody Templeton Named SLC Pitcher of the Week for Second Time This Year

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Lumberjacks starting pitcher Cody Templeton has been named the SLC Pitcher of the Week after his dominant outing against Northwestern State on Saturday, the Southland Conference announced.
This is his second time winning the Pitcher of the Week, as Cody was recognized earlier in the season after throwing a complete game shutout against Lamar. This past weekend, Templeton put the Lumberjacks on his back, throwing a complete game while not allowing any earned runs. He gave up only one unearned run, four hits, and one walk, and finished his night with eight strikeouts. Cody has been a workhorse for the pitching staff all year, as he leads the team in innings pitched (72.0) and has gone at least five innings in nine of his 11 games. On the year, Cody has a 4.00 ERA and 1.31 WHIP, and his 51 strikeouts lead the team.

The Lumberjacks will be back in action tomorrow night when they travel to Grambling, Louisiana, to take on Grambling State. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
