
Ladyjacks Host HCU and UIW for Homecoming Week

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin volleyball program returns to the friendly confines of the Pressure Cooker for two big SLC matchups during Homecoming Week. First the 'Jacks will host their annual Dig Pink night against the Houston Christian Huskies on Thursday, October 16 at 6 p.m. Then the Ladyjacks will host the UIW Cardinals for their Camo Day on Saturday, October 18 at 12 p.m.
WHERE TO TUNE IN/PROMOTIONS
• Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+ this weekend with Greg Miller and Brittany Castledine on the call.
• For Thursday's Dig Pink match, fans are encouraged to wear pink and the first 500 fans will receive a pink wristband.
• For Saturday's Camo Day, fans are encouraged to show up in their camo gear and the first 100 SFA students will receive a camo hat.
ABOUT THE LADYJACKS
• The 'Jacks are 82 in the most recent NCAA RPI Poll and are the only SLC team in the top 100 for the second week in a row.
• SFA won their conference opener for the 14th season in a row by securing a 3-1 win over tournament defending champions, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
• Head Coach Debbie Humphreys secured her 850th career win in a five-set thriller against Abilene Christian on September 5.
• With John Cook (NEB) and Mary Wise (FLA) announcing their retirements over the summer, Coach Humphreys is now one of two active coaches in Division I to win over 800 matches and is the only active coach to win 800 at one institution. She has the second most wins among active DI coaches with 850.
• The 'Jacks finished a tough non-conference slate with a 5-6 record. They picked up wins over UTSA, Texas State, Louisiana, Abilene Christian, and Tarleton. SFA hosted No. 10 SMU and UTEP in the second SFA Tournament to close non-conference.
SCOUTING HOUSTON CHRISTIAN
• The Huskies enter this match with a 10-9 overall record and a 5-1 conference record. HCU is coming off their first conference loss this season after falling to UTRGV 3-1 on Saturday.
• In HCU's previous two matches, they have recorded 116 kills, 109 assists, and 117 digs.
• HCU's offense is led by junior middle blocker, Allana Archie who has 182 kills and averages 3.08 per set.
• Sophomore setter, Peyton Fadal is coming off her second SLC Setter of the Week award and leads the Huskies offense with 539 assists (9.80 per set).
• Sophomore DS/Libero, Bianca Byerly is deadly at the service line with 24 aces this season, she also holds down the back line with 213 digs.
• Archie also leads the block for the Huskies with 46 followed by junior middle blocker, Hannah Redrow who has 30.
SCOUTING UIW
• The Cardinals enter the fourth week of conference play with a 9-9 overall record and a 5-1 conference record. Last week, UIW was swept by UTRGV on Thursday night before pulling off a reverse sweep against the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders on Saturday.
• Senior outside hitter, Finley Evans leads the team with 188 kills (2.85 per set). Evans earned SLC Offensive Player of the Week on September 29.
• Sophomore setter, Calissa Allison runs the Cardinal offense with 463 assists (6.81 per set) and earned SLC Setter of the Week honors on September 8. She also leads the team with 21 aces this season.
• Freshman libero, Ashton Rogers leads the back line with 240 digs followed by Allison who has 218.
• The Cardinal block is led by senior middle blocker, Kade Thomas and sophomore middle blocker, Vanessa Eregie. Thomas leads the team with 50 while Eregie has 46.

• The Ladyjacks hold a 14-6 series lead over the Huskies and have a 6-1 record in the Pressure Cooker.
• SFA holds a commanding 12-2 series lead over UIW with a 3-1 home record. The 'Jacks are currently on a nine-game win streak against the Cardinals.

• Jayden Flynn is three aces away from 150 and moving into seventh in all-time aces at SFA. Flynn is also 63 assists away from 2,500 career assists.
• Izabella Ortiz is 22 points away from 1,000 career points.
• Caroline Kahle needs one more dig to reach 500 career digs.
OFFENSIVE EFFICIENCY
• In the second set against McNeese, the 'Jacks recorded an incredible .706 hitting percentage with 13 kills on 17 swings.
• Later in that match, Katherine Holtman recorded her 500th career kill.
