
Ladyjack Defeat Huskies to Move to 7-0 in SLC Play

Three Ladyjacks record double-digit kills with Camryn Hill and Kennedy Jones recording double-doubles.
NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin volleyball program kicked off the homecoming week festivities with their Dig Pink match against the Houston Christian Huskies.
The first set was very back and forth with both teams going on several mini runs throughout the set. Eventually the Huskies came out on top with a 4-1 run to end the first set, 25-23.
In the second set, a four-point run gave the 'Jacks a 5-3 lead. HCU kept it close and tied it up several times before SFA went on a 5-0 spurt to take a 21-15 lead. The 'Jacks flipped the script on the Huskies by finishing the second set on a 4-2 run to take a 25-18 second set victory.
SFA won the first three points of the third set, 3-0. Later the 'Jacks went on a long 8-0 scoring run the featured two aces from Kennedy Jones, two kills from Katherine Holtman and two for Kyanna Creecy, 15-5. The Ladyjacks finished the set on a 6-1 spurt and secured a 25-11 third set victory on a kill from Jones.
The fourth set was competitive as neither team held more than a three-point lead until the 'Jacks went on a 5-1 run to take a 19-14 lead. SFA continued to put the pedal to the metal as they ended the match on a 6-0 run which featured back-to-back-to-back kills from Izabella Ortiz and was capped off by an ace from Camryn Hill, 25-16.
POSTGAME NOTES
• SFA moves to a 15-6 record against HCU and a 7-1 record at home.
• Katherine Holtman paced the 'Jacks with 14 kills and hit .500 while tacking on an ace and two blocks.
• Kennedy Jones recorded her third career double-double and her first of the season with 12 kills and 13 digs.
• Camryn Hill recorded her second double-double of the season with 11 kills and 14 digs.
• Caroline Kahle held down the back line with Hill as they each recorded 14 digs. Kahle also recorded her 500th career dig.
• Kyanna Creecy led the team with four blocks, followed by Molly Cravens and Izabella Ortiz who had three.
• Zoe Gun led the SFA offense with 28 assists and three aces. Jayden Flynn followed up with 21 assists and one ace.
