
Ladyjacks Gallop Past Cowgirls in Lake Charles

SFA remains a perfect 6-0 in Southland Conference play.
LAKE CHARLES, La.- The Stephen F. Austin volleyball team finished their two-game Louisiana swing in Lake Charles against the McNeese Cowgirls.
The beginning of the first set was competitive with McNeese holding an early 5-4 lead before SFA went on a 7-1 spurt to take an 11-6 lead. Both teams were successful in siding out rest of the set with Katherine Holtman delivering the final kill of the first set to secure a 25-19 first set victory.
SFA did not take their foot off the gas as they jumped out to an early 4-0 lead. Later the Ladyjacks went on an incredible 8-0 scoring run that featured back-to-back aces from Kennedy Jones and was capped off by a kill from Kyanna Creecy, 13-2. From there, the 'Jacks cruised to a 25-10 second set victory. In the second set, SFA recorded a .706 hitting percentage which is the highest single set hitting percentage the team has recorded this season.
In the third set, SFA once again jumped out to a commanding 13-6 lead. The 'Jacks finished the match on a 12-3 run to secure the match on a 25-10 third set victory that was finished off by back-to-back kills from Holtman who recorded her 500th career kill.
POSTGAME NOTES
• SFA moves to 48-11 against McNeese and extends their win streak to 17 games.
• SFA led McNeese in all major stats categories; points (52-30), kills (37-26), aces (7-1), blocks (8-3), assists (34-26), digs (30-20), and hitting percentage (.470-.060).
• Jayden Flynn officially moves into seventh place in All-Time Assists at SFA.
• Katherine Holtman records her 500th career kill and paces the 'Jacks with 13 kills.
• Kennedy Jones was all over the stats sheet with nine kills, hit .563, two aces, four blocks, and six digs.
• Flynn led the team with 17 assists and tallied one ace.
• Zoe Gun followed Flynn with 11 assists and led the team with seven digs.
• Jordan Henderson stuffed six blocks including two solo blocks.
