
Lumberjacks Drop Two Games to Redhawks

Game 1
The Redhawks got the scoring started in the top of the first inning scoring one run and taking the lead 1-0. In the top of the second inning Seattle U scored another run to extend their lead, 2-0. The top of the third inning saw the Redhawks extend their lead again scoring two runs, 4-0. Seattle struck again in the top of the fourth inning scoring one run, 5-0. After a scoreless fifth inning for both teams Seattle U was able to tack on once again in the top of the sixth inning plating two runs, 7-0. The Lumberjacks responded in the bottom of the inning. Tom Biggs launched a two-run home run for his fourth home run of the year over the right center field wall to cut into the Redhawks lead 7-2. After a Hunter Prescher walk and a Colton Griffin infield single, Dylan Bourgeois reached first on an error by the pitcher allowing Hunter Prescher to score from third base, 7-3. With one out in the inning Peyton Parker pinch hit for Tyree Carr and gounded out to the second baseman to score Colton Griffin from third. After six complete innings the Redhawks led 7-4.
Seattle U was able to immediately respond scoring five runs in the top of the seventh inning to take a commanding 12-4 lead. In the bottom of the eighth inning Sam Adams doubled to drive in Hunter Prescher followed by a Cole Hill single up the middle scoring Adams from third. The Lumberjacks were able to push two runs across in the bottom of the eighth, but the Redhawks still led 12-6. Both teams were held scoreless in the ninth inning and Seattle U won the first game by a final score of 12-6.
Luke Alwood (1-1) took the win on the mound for Seattle U and Carter Hines (0-2) took the loss for SFA.
Game 2
Seattle U was able to get the scoring started in the top of the third inning plating five runs and taking a commanding lead, 5-0. The Lumberjacks responded in the bottom of the inning thanks to a Peyton Parker double scoring Dylan Bourgeois, 5-1. The bottom of the fourth inning saw the Lumberjacks strike again. Zerick Warren got the scoring stated after working a bases loaded walk, 5-2. Hunter Prescher then hit a sacrifice fly to center field scoring Nolan Brown from third, 5-3. Dylan Bourgeois then grounded out to the second baseman scoring Colton Griffin. After four complete inning the Redhawks led 5-4.
The Redhawks scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning and five runs in the top of the seventh inning to jump out to a 12-4 after seven complete innings. Seattle U held the Lumberjacks scoreless after the fourth inning and won game two of the doubleheader and clinching the series. Seattle U won the game by a final score of 12-4.
Blake Smith (4-4) took the win for the Redhawks and Reid Boyett (0-8) took the loss for the Lumberjacks.
