Lumberjacks Fall to Red Raiders

Cole Hill led off the top of the first inning for the Lumberjacks with a double down the left field line to start the game. SFA got the scoring started in the first inning thanks to a Tom Biggs single to right field scoring Cole Hill to take a 1-0 lead. After Nolan Brown reached on a fielder's choice, Cody Fleischer hit a double into left field scoring Brown and extended the Lumberjacks lead to 2-0. Texas Tech came to the plate in the bottom of the second inning and was able to push two runs across to tie the game at 2-2 after two complete innings.
The Red Raiders were able to extend their lead in the bottom of the fourth inning scoring three runs to take the lead for the first time in the game at 5-2. After a scoreless fifth inning for both teams, the Red Raiders scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. After six complete innings Texas Tech led SFA 10-2. In the top of the eighth inning the Lumberjacks were able to cut into the Red Raiders lead after Nolan Brown launched his seventh home run of the year over the left field wall to score two runs. After eight and a half innings Texas Tech led 10-4. The Red Raiders were able to score six runs in the bottom of the eighth inning and enacted the 10-run rule. The Lumberjacks fell by a final score of 16-4.
Trendan Parish (2-1) took the win on the mound for the Red Raiders and Crew Wilson (0-1) took the loss for the Lumberjacks.
The Lumberjacks return to Pilgrim's Park for a weekend 3-game WAC Conference series against Tarleton State. The series will start on Thursday, March 28th in a 6:30 p.m. game. Friday's game begins at 2:00 p.m. and first pitch on Saturday is set for 12 noon. The games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
