
Izabella Ortiz Named WAC Player of the Week for Second Consecutive Week

ARLINGTON, Texas- Stephen F. Austin sophomore middle blocker, Izabella Ortiz, was named the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, the league announced on Wednesday.
Ortiz received her second consecutive WAC Player of the Week nomination, which marked the fourth consecutive week an SFA Ladyjacks player has been named WAC Player of the Week. Ielan Bradley won the award back-to-back weeks, while Ortiz has won the award the last two weeks. Ortiz, a sophomore middle blocker from Flower Mound, Texas recorded 19 kills in SFA's sweeps against Utah Valley and Seattle. She had a .630 hitting percentage and averaged 3.17 kills per set. Ortiz continued to add to her conference-leading block total with 11 which brings her season total to 90 which is currently fourth in the nation. She averaged 1.83 blocks per set over this past week.
