Final Game Between 'Jacks and 'Kats Canceled, SFA Grabs 2-1 Series Win

NACOGDOCHES, Texas --
The final game of the Southland Conference series between the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks (15-24, 12-15 SLC) and the Sam Houston Bearkats (20-18, 16-11 SLC) has been canceled due to weather conditions. The Lumberjacks win the series 2-1 after edging the Bearkats the first two games, adding two more wins to their conference record.
Game 1: SFA, 6-3
Game 2: SFA, 5-4
Game 3: SHSU, 9-3
Game 4: Canceled
"Our guys did a wonderful job of not only preparing themselves, but also the efforts that they displayed in working up the field on a rain-soaked weekend," said Head Coach Johnny Cardenas. "So proud of the effort that every player displayed throughout. Axe 'Em!"
The Lumberjacks will be back in action next weekend for a four-game series at Texas A&M Corpus Christi (18-25, 14-12 SLC), with the next home stand taking place on May 14-16th against Northwestern State (22-20, 16-12 SLC). SFA won both series' 2-1 in 2019.
