Kelsey Harrington Named TicketSmarter WAC Defensive Player of the Week

Junior middle blocker Kelsey Harrington has been named the TicketSmarter WAC Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced this morning. Harrington's presence on both the offensive and defensive sides were critical in SFA's two wins this week over Lamar and UTRGV.
Harrington posted a double-double and career-high (11 kills and 11 blocks) in a competitive four-set victory over UTRGV on Saturday for 16.5 points, where she also set a career-high.
"Kelsey had a great week of VB," said Head Coach Debbie Humphreys. "She was dominant as a blocker & as an attacker. Her individual blocks/set this past week were more than many team blocks/set. Nobody works harder than Kels and I'm excited that her hard work is paying off. She is also a great team leader who makes those around her better."
The junior was responsible for contributing to half of the single-game team blocks record across four sets in NCAA Division I, as the 'Jacks registered 22 in the UTRGV match.
She hit a solid .541 on the week with 16 kills on 28 attempts combined this week, featured by 16 total blocks.
