Ridgefield, Wash. --Senior Skylar Black put together an outstanding performance at the plate Saturday, hitting two homers, but the SFA 'Jacks fell to the Portland Pilots 8-7.
Sophomore Tod Gauthe (0-1) took the loss on the mound for SFA (3-7). Junior Joe Todd started the ballgame and went six innings, surrendering three runs, earned, on four hits, walking two and striking out four.
Black went 3-for-4 at the plate, supplementing his two home runs with five RBIs. Junior Thylar Summarell added to Black's awesome power-hitting performance by going 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs. Freshman Gabe Irwin also chipped in for the 'Jacks, going 2-for-5 with a double.
