Balanced Offensive Onslaught Leads Ladyjacks Past Northern Iowa, 13-0

CONWAY, Ark. -- Four Ladyjacks tallied multiple hits and the Ladyjacks scored early and often to open the Shamrock Classic with a 13-0 victory over Northern Iowa on Thursday morning.
Senior Ashley Kriesel (7-1) got the win for SFA (11-4). The right-hander went four shutout innings, giving up one hit, no walks and striking out eight. Freshman Reagan Chism also pitched well, going one shutout inning without allowing a hit.
Freshman Gaby Garcia led the way offensively for the Ladyjacks, going 2-for-2 in the ballgame with a home run and three RBIs. Junior Bryana Novegil put together a noteworthy performance as well, going 1-for-1 with a double, two walks and three RBIs. Senior Madison Clements also helped out, going 1-for-1 for SFA with a double, a walk and three RBIs.
GAME SUMMARY
The Ladyjacks took the lead for good in the first, scoring for the first time in the inning. SFA's offense started clicking and put up four runs, including a three-run double off the bat of Clements.
The Ladyjacks then tacked on runs in the fourth and fifth innings, with their biggest output coming in the fifth when they scored six times. The big hit in that inning was a two-run single off the bat of Garcia.
