
Wilbur Shines as Ladyjacks Clip Warhawks at Shamrock Classic, 11-2

CONWAY, Ark. --It was a difficult day for UL Monroe pitchers, as the SFA Ladyjacks put up 11 runs en route to an 11-2 victory over the Warhawks on Friday.
Sophomore Kassidy Wilbur (4-2) got the win for SFA (12-4). The right-hander went 4.1 shutout innings, giving up two hits, two walks and striking out four.
Junior Marisa Arriaga led the way offensively for the Ladyjacks, going 3-for-3 in the ballgame with a double and two RBIs. Sophomore Alex Hedspeth furnished a standout effort as well, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Senior Madison Clements also chipped in, going 2-for-3 for SFA with two RBIs.
GAME SUMMARY
The Ladyjacks got on the board immediately, starting their scoring in the first inning. SFA's offense started clicking and put up four runs, including a one-run single off the bat of Clements.
The Warhawks failed to push any runs across before the Ladyjacks built on their lead in the third inning. SFA plated two runs off of UL Monroe pitching, punctuated by a run-scoring double off the bat of sophomore Savanna Parker, which brought the Ladyjacks lead to 6-0.
SFA kept UL Monroe without a run before building their lead to 11-0 the following inning. The Ladyjacks bats heated up in the inning, scoring five runs, including a two-run single off the bat of Hedspeth. UL Monroe put two runs on the scoreboard before the game was over, but SFA still coasted to the 11-2 win.
