SFA Claims 2-1 Spring Season Win Over TCU at SMU Tri-Match

Ladyjacks improve to 4-2 in spring competition
DALLAS - In its second spring competition date of 2019, the SFA volleyball team scored a 2-1 victory over the Big 12's TCU Saturday morning inside Moody Coliseum.
SFA's matchup with the Horned Frogs was the Ladyjacks' first of the day at SMU who hosted the tri-match.
The Ladyjacks found themselves on the wrong end of a narrow 26-24 decision in the opening frame against TCU but bounced back from there. SFA secured a 25-23 victory in the middle frame before going on to capture the win via a 16-14 score in the third and final set.
Later in the afternoon SFA matched up with host SMU and suffered a 2-1 setback to the Mustangs. SMU grabbed a 1-0 lead early on with a 25-19 triumph in the opening set and narrowly outscored SFA 25-23 in the second.
The Ladyjacks' lone win against SMU came in the third when they notched a 25-23 victory in the final set.
After their first two weekends of spring competition, the Ladyjacks have gone 4-2 with wins over Houston, Louisiana, Southeastern Louisiana and TCU.
For its final spring event of 2019, SFA returns home to Shelton Gym on Saturday, April 27. The Ladyjacks will host seven teams in their spring tournament which will begin at 11:00 a.m. A full schedule of the tournament will be released the Monday prior to the event.
