LEADOFF HITS
• Looking to put an end to a three-game skid, the SFA baseball team head north to Arlington, Texas, where it will be one of three teams taking part in the 2019 UT-Arlington Classic. Along with classic host UT-Arlington, the 'Jacks join Wichita State out of the American Athletic Conference for the three-day classic.
• Weather has already impacted the start times of Friday's and Saturday's games. Originally scheduled to play at 11:30 a.m. Friday morning, SFA's tilt with Wichita State was pushed back to a noon start, meaning that the team's game against UT-Arlington later in the day was moved from 3:00 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday's matchup against Wichita State was also moved from a 3:00 p.m. start to a 3:30 p.m. start.
• After registering a hit in the first four games of the 'Jacks' 2019 season, senior shortstop Manny Vasquez possesses a team-leading five-game hitting streak dating back to last season. Just one other player - freshman outfielder Brandon Uhse - has notched at least one hit in each of the team's four games this season.
• In the 'Jacks' most recent game - a 5-3 setback at Texas A&M - a trio of players made their SFA debuts. All of those players were pitchers and they include Cully Mangus, Jacob Stobart and Derek Wells.
• Mangus came in and tossed a one, two, three seventh inning against the Aggies while Jacob Stobart faced a pair of batters in 1/3 of an inning. Stobart got the final out of the eighth inning.
• For his part, Wells fired 2 2/3 frames of two-run ball and gave up five hits to Texas A&M.
• Senior catcher Jarrod Huber ranks sixth in the Southland with a team-leading batting average of .500. His team-leading on-base percentage of .667 also ranks fourth in the 13-team league.

• Two of the 'Jacks' relief arms have logged four innings of work so far in 2019. Jeremy Rodriguez (0-1, 4.50 ERA) and Austin Roth (0-0, 9.00 ERA) have each tossed four frames to lead all bullpen pitchers on SFA's roster.
