Fans and supporters of SFA baseball and softball invited to second annual event
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - In preparation for the start of the 2019 SFA baseball and softball seasons, Commercial Bank of Texas (CBTx) will be hosting its second annual Interact with the 'Jacks event on Saturday, Jan. 26, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
The event is being hosted at the main CBTx banking center located in downtown at 215 East Main Street and will feature free food and drinks, games, door prizes, raffle prize giveaways and autograph signings for all fans in attendance. A DJ will also be on hand to provide music throughout the event and CBTx is set to distribute vouchers which fans can use to obtain free entry into the home opener of their choice for either team.
Team members and coaches from both the Lumberjack baseball team and the Ladyjack softball team will be in attendance to sign autographs. Head coaches Johnny Cardenas (baseball) and Nicole Dickson (softball) will speak at the event as will select members of the baseball and softball teams.
Less than one month separates both the Lumberjacks and Ladyjacks from the start of their respective 2019 seasons. SFA's softball team begins its campaign on Friday, Feb. 8, in Starkville, Miss., as one of four participants in the 2019 Bulldog Kickoff Classic. Through the three-day Classic, SFA is set to take on Valparaiso, Mississippi State and Middle Tennessee State.
Jaycees Field in Nacogdoches, Texas, will serve as the venue for the Lumberjack baseball team's 2019 debut. On Friday, Feb. 15, SFA begins its latest campaign by hosting Arkansas State in a three-game set. First pitch Friday evening is set for 6:30 p.m.
