
SFA Track and Field Wraps Up Competition at 2018 Carl Kight Invitational

Final Results
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – On the final day of the 2018 Carl Kight Invitational, the sprints and relays group carried the day despite chilling winds and misty conditions that carried throughout.
In the men's 400m dash, Tedrick Hawkins (47.84) and Payton Davis (48.78) placed second and fourth, respectively. Imani Nave set a new personal best in the 400m dash, winning the event with a time of 56.29. Camille Singleton placed third in the event with a time of 57.74. The women's 200m dash featured a second and third place finish from Aaliyah Teel (24.80) and Meghan Bell (24.90), respectively.
A day after finishing the women's heptathlon, Sammi Brashears and Caitlin Lennon ran in the 100m hurdles, with Brashears placing fifth and Lennon coming in eighth at 14.98 and 15.29, respectively. Sam Smethers placed fourth in the men's 110m high hurdles, crossing the line at 15.20.
Aaliyah Teel and Meghan Bell finished second and third in the 100m dash at 12.13 and 12.17, respectively. Jake Rippy placed sixth in the men's 100m with a time of 10.93. Kadrienne Sanders placed second in the 400m hurdlers at 1:03.97, while Daija Carr came in fifth at 1:06.49.
SFA swept the 800m races, with Kelsey Ramirez (2:15.41) placing first on the women's side and Drake Murphy (1:52.47) taking the top spot for the men. SFA also took third in each race as well, as Madison Compass (2:20.35) finished ahead of her sister Allison Compass (fifth, 2:2.19) in the women's race and Quinlin McGregor placed third behind Murphy at 1:55.12. Lauren Zbranek (2:24.41) finished in seventh for the SFA women.
Tierra Wilson took second in the hammer throw with a distance of 50.01m, while teammate Mallory Dotson placed sixth (45.10m) and Bellodgia Roberson took eighth with a distance of 43.08m. Dotson would also place third in the discus (41.17m), while Bellodgia Roberson came in sixth with a mark of 38.36m.
Trenton Bridges placed fifth in the hammer throw for the Lumberjacks with a mark of 53.45m, also placing second in the discus with a throw of 50.86m, just behind teammate and first place finisher Kevin Steward (51.09m).
Raylie Huff took third in the triple jump with a distance of 11.45m, followed by Kariyah Lanehart in fifth at 11.31m and Taylor Terry in seventh at 11.21m. Denzel Green placed third for SFA in the men's triple jump, reaching a distance of 14.28m. Noah Berney took first in the high jump with a height of 2.00m.
The men's 4x400 relay team of Drake Murphy, Payton Davis, Kerry Gleason and Tedrick Hawkins would dominate the race from start to finish, securing the top spot (3:17.49) by an impressive four seconds over the second place finisher, SFA's "B" team of Charles Fentress, Isaiah Pittman, Quinlin McGregor and Logan Houser. The women's 4x400 relay of Nave, Tiffany Williams, Dominique Jackson and Aaliyah Teel would place fourth with a time of 4:00.23.
A total of 13 SFA seniors were honored before the concluding relays, both for their individual accomplishments and combined efforts that secured six Southland Conference championships.
