'Jacks and Demons in scoreless tie in bottom of the third when tornado watch forces postponement
NATCHITOCHES, La. - With nearly three innings of Friday night's regularly scheduled Southland Conference showdown between Stephen F. Austin and Northwestern State in the books, mother nature showed up and forced an unexpected change to the team's three-game series.
Due to a storm system that brought a tornado warning with it, the 'Jacks and Demons were forced to put Friday night's opener on pause until Saturday afternoon. The teams waited out a lightning delay for a little over 40 minutes before the decision was made to play the remainder of Friday's game the following day.
Friday's game will resume Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. as part of a doubleheader from Brown-Stroud Field. At the time of Friday night's stoppage, Northwestern State was at the plate with two outs and starting pitcher Dru Dziedzic had a 2-1 count on Lenni Kunert.
