SFA To Host Volleyball Clinic Saturday

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin women’s volleyball team is hosting a volleyball clinic for high school setters and defensive specialists inside Shelton Gym this coming Saturday, Feb. 21 from noon until 2:00 p.m.
The clinic will be free of charge and open to any high school volleyball player who plays the setting or defensive specialist positions. Any player interested in attending the event is asked to e-mail SFA head volleyball coach Debbie Humphreys at dhumphreys@sfasu.edu prior to Saturday’s event.
The Ladyjacks are coming off a historic 2014 campaign as Humphrey’s squad posted a 16-0 record during the regular season of Southland Conference play to win the SLC title. The setter and defensive specialist positions were big reasons for the tremendous amount of success that SFA experienced. Setter Paige Holland was named the 2014 SLC Setter of the Year after tallying 1,097 assists in 32 matches while libero OJ Olson captained the Ladyjack backline, posting a team-high 585 digs to earn Second Team All-SLC honors.
Humphreys is a five-time Southland Conference Coach of the Year recipient, most recently receiving the honor at the end of last season. She has led her team to a league-best eight SLC titles in her tenure at SFA.
