Signee McMullen Ties TCL Doubles Mark

LAFAYETTE, La. - Stephen F. Austin signee Garrett McMullen hit his 17th double of the summer season for the East Texas Pump Jacks of the Texas Collegiate League to tie the league's single-season record.
McMullen recorded the double as part of a 1-4 performance, Tuesday, Aug. 6, in a 7-2 loss to the Acadiana Cane Cutters. The double ties Zac Fisher, who set the single-season record during the 2010 summer.
With two games remaining in the regular season, McMullen needs just one more two-bagger to take sole possession of the record, while teammate and fellow Lumberjack Matther Dickey needs one more stolen base to tie the single-season mark.
McMullen and Dickey were two of five current and future SFA players to be named to the 2013 TCL All-Start game back in July when they were joined by Ricardo Sanchez, Zach Marberry and Connor Fikes.
