- SFA is just 0-7 all-time against the Longhorns, with every meeting coming in Austin. This is the first time the teams have met since SFA reinitiated baseball in 2006. The last time SFA met the Longhorns on the diamond was in January of 1995.
- The Longhorns had opened the year with an uncharacteristic 5-8 start before recently catching fire, winning each of their last five games, including thier 14th consecutive series win over Oklahoma last weekend in Norman.
- Sophomore shortstop Hunter Dozier currently leads the Lumberjacks with a .329 batting average and has already eclipsed his home run total from last season with his six dingers. As a whole, SFA leads the Southland Conference with 14 home runs.
- Senior catcher Jarid Scarafiotti moved sits in fourth place all-time at SFA in hits with his 172 and needs just two more to tie Jeff Dungen for third all-time on the list. He is also tied with Hayland Hardy for sixth all-time with 19 career home runs and is second in RBI with 115, just 2 shy of Hill's all-time Lumberjack mark of 117.
- The series at Texas State concludes an eight-game road stretch for the 'Jacks, their longest road swing of the season.
