BELOIT, Wisc. - Quad Cities Swing infielder and former SFA baseball player Steven Hill has been named the Midwest League Offensive Player of the Week after his performance July 22-29.
Hill picked up five consecutive multi-hit efforts and four straight multi-RBI games during the week, finishing with a .467 average for seven games. He also put up an .867 slugging percentage to go with three home runs, three doubles, six runs scored and 16 RBI. The Swing won five of the seven games.
Since being promoted to the Swing, he is hitting .352 with seven home runs and 28 RBI in 28 games. It only took him 10 games to hit .436 at Class A Batavia to earn his promotion.
Hill was the first of four `Jacks to be drafted when the St. Louis Cardinals selected him in the 13th round with the 412th overall selection. He earned All-America honors from Louisville Slugger and the American Baseball Coaches Association in 2007, leaving SFA as the all-time leader in nearly every offensive category.
