FRISCO, Texas - Stephen F. Austin's Erich Lehmann has been named to the 2007 Southland Conference/Capital One Baseball All-Academic team, according to an announcement released Thursday by league officials. Lehmann was one of three pitchers selected for the team, which is voted on by conference head coaches, sports information directors and compliance officials.
Lehmann made 18 appearances for the Lumberjacks with 17 starts in posting the best win-loss record on the squad. The sophomore from Fort Worth put together a 9-2 record with a 4.38 ERA and 82 strikeouts in 109.0 innings pitched. He allowed only 17 walks, by far the lowest total on the SFA staff.
Lehmann combined his strong performance on the mound with a solid showing in the classroom to earn his first Academic All-SLC honor. He caries a 3.82 cumulative GPA as a criminal justice major.
