NACOGDOCHES - A month after the Stephen F. Austin volleyball season has ended, the Ladyjacks are still bringing in awards as the College Volleyball Update announced them as one of the top digging teams in the nation. It is the second straight year SFA earned the honor and was one of two teams, along with Duke, to repeat the award.
As a team, the Ladyjacks averaged 20.99 digs per game, which ranks third in the nation. SFA's defense was led by senior libero Stephanie Figgers, whose 6.93 digs per game average was also third in the nation.
Murray State, Duke, Creighton, and Wichita State also received the honor of being the top digging teams in the nation.
