
SFA Athletes Succeed in the Classroom

FRISCO, Texas - Fifty Stephen F. Austin student-athletes were named to the Southland Conference spring academic honor roll announced league officials last month. The Ladyjack track and field team led the way with 12 athletes, while Lumberjack baseball and track and field each placed nine athletes on the team.
Five athletes were also named to their respective sport's Academic All-SLC team this season including senior guards Marcus Clark of men's basketball and Britany Vinson of women's basketball. Clark, Vinson and senior guard Kirby Killingsworth were also recognized for their accomplishments on the court earning All-Southland Conference honors.
The Lumberjack baseball team's list of honorees included 2006 Freshman All-America pitcher Erich Lehmann, who finished the season with an 8-3 (.727) overall record and a 3.40 earned run average. Senior Kama Scott (women's tennis) was a 2005 All-SLC selection, who finished her career being named the recipient of the 2006 Dianne Baker Award, was one of six student-athletes honored from the Ladyjack tennis team.
