
Ladyjacks Tabbed as Preseason Favorite

PLANO, Texas - The defending Southland Conference co-champion Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team was picked as the favorite to repeat as league champions in a poll of the conference head coaches and sports information directors, announced league officials Wednesday afternoon.
The Ladyjacks received seven first-place votes and 95 points in the coaches poll distancing themselves from Texas State by 10 points. Four different schools received at least one first-place vote in the poll. It was a similar story in the SID poll as the Ladyjacks received eight of the 11 first-place votes and 116 points to earn the top spot. The Bobcats also finished second in the SID poll, receiving three first-place votes and 105 points.
The Ladyjacks will begin defense of their title on Saturday Aug. 27th, when they travel to Houston, Texas, to take on the Cougars. The match against Houston is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
