Ladyjack Volleyball Receives Academic Honor

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team was named a recipient of the prestigious American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award for a fifth consecutive season announced AVCA officials Tuesday afternoon. The award honors both high school and college programs that achieve a 3.30 cumulative grade point average during the school year. The AVCA began presenting the award for the 1992-93 academic year. SFA was one of only 46 NCAA Division I schools to win the award. The Ladyjacks were also one of only four Texas schools and one of only two Southland Conference schools to receive the honor. The Ladyjacks open the 2004 season Wednesday Sept. 1, in Ruston, La., against Louisiana Tech. -SFA-
