Meet the Ladyjacks Set for Aug. 26

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team kicks off the 2004 season Thursday night at the William R. Johnson Coliseum in the annual Purple/White Scrimmage. The match is scheduled to get underway at 6:30 p.m. Following the match, refreshments will be served in the Murray Shaw Room where fans will have the opportunity to meet the SFA coaching staff and players. The Ladyjacks have been tabbed as the team to beat in the Southland Conference. SFA received five first-place votes and 94 points to finish first in a preseason poll of the league head coaches. SFA returns eight letterwinners and every starter, including 2003 first-team All-Southland Conference selection Brittany Burton, from a team that went 19-13 overall and finished second in the conference standings. -SFA-
