Ladyjack Named to Preseason All-SLC Team

PLANO, Texas - Junior middle blocker Brittany Burton (Livingston, Texas) was named to the preseason All-Southland Conference team announced league officials Tuesday afternoon. Burton is a second-team selection.
A 2003 team co-captain, Burton enters her junior season as one of the league's most dominating middle blockers. After leading the Ladyjacks in blocks as a freshman (106), Burton battled through injuries her sophomore year to finish second on the team with 107 total blocks. She is currently on pace to become one of the school's all-time leading blockers as well as record 1,000 career kills.
The Ladyjacks open the 2003 season Friday Aug. 29th in El Paso, Texas against UTEP. The match against the Miners is slated to begin at 11 a.m. SFA will be in Las Cruces, N.M. for a 6 p.m. showdown with New Mexico State later that day.
